Born in Cap-Haitien, Haiti, our guest is a passionate advocate for her homeland, dedicated to empowering communities through education, economic development, and health promotion. After completing her Baccalaureate exams, she moved to the United States, where she earned a degree in Computer Science from DeVry University and received additional training in administration. Her enthusiasm, dynamism, and deep empathy have guided her career in humanitarian work and social entrepreneurship. From 2006 to 2009, she served as the National Director of the Foundation of Compassionate American Samaritans (FOCAS) in Haiti and later as the Transition Manager for Food for the Hungry (FFH). Since 2009, she has dedicated herself to Sonje Ayiti, an organization she founded in Georgia in 2004, which focuses on education, economic development, and health to help Haitians support each other and build their dreams with pride and dignity.
As a social entrepreneur, she co-founded SAPEN SA in 2009, where she serves as Secretary General. SAPEN SA is a corporation specializing in poultry farming and fruit processing, including the popular Chaw Twopikal dried fruit product line. Beyond her professional achievements, she enjoys cooking, investigative films, unsolved mysteries, gardening, music, dance, sports, painting, and traveling. Her lifelong mission remains deeply rooted in advocating for Haiti and creating sustainable solutions for its future.

Vladimir Lamerique is a Haitian American entrepreneur with a passion for financial management and business development. Born in Miami, Florida, he was raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he developed resilience, adaptability, and perseverance. After completing his secondary education, he moved to Massachusetts, where he pursued higher education and earned a bachelor's degree in Public Health. Though his academic background was in health sciences, his love for problem-solving and business operations led him to a different path.
After spending several years in Corporate America, where he honed his skills in leadership, critical thinking, and adaptability, Vladimir decided to follow his passion for finance and entrepreneurship. He became a certified ProAdvisor with Intuit, gaining the technical expertise to help businesses manage their books effectively. With this knowledge, he founded SweptBooks, a company dedicated to helping businesses maximize their profits through proper financial management. Vladimir is committed to empowering entrepreneurs with the financial clarity and strategic insights they need for sustainable growth.
Telling Haiti’s Story Through Film: A Journey of Passion and Purpose
Jacquil Constant is a Haitian American independent filmmaker with over twenty years of experience in the industry. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis in Pan African Studies and Cinema, Television, and Arts from California State University Northridge (CSUN). In 2006, he founded his own production company, Constant Production, which has produced music videos, short films, and commercial projects. In 2015, he launched the first-ever Haiti International Film Festival in Southern California, a platform dedicated to showcasing Haitian cinema and culture.
Throughout his career, Jacquil has worked with major networks such as MTV, BET, and VH1 in production, post-production, and casting for reality television shows. He has directed and produced independent short documentaries, including CSUN 6, which highlights student protests against tuition hikes, and Dream Realized, a film on the history of the CSUN Africana Studies Department. His award-winning feature documentary, Haiti Is A Nation Of Artists, captures the resilience and creativity of Haitian artists in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake. Currently, he is a Cinema Professor at Pasadena City College, where he teaches Film Production and Film History while continuing his mission to promote Haitian culture through art exhibitions and film.
