We can consider Caleb Exantus a dedicated ambassador promoting Haitian culture through dance and the beloved traditional Haitian music, Konpa. For nearly 10 years, he has been teaching Konpa dance, sharing its rhythm and joy with the world.
Caleb began his journey step by step, demonstrating his passion for dancing and teaching the music’s rhythm in South Florida, USA. By posting video clips on social media, he has influenced countless people of all ages globally.
Today, Caleb brings Konpa music to life for people from various cultures and races across six continents.
To elevate his mission, Caleb founded the “CEX Team” (Caleb Exantus Team), a major platform designed to celebrate Haitian talent, excellence, culture, and tradition. The CEX Team includes dancers and instructors in several countries, spanning the Americas, Europe, and Africa. Together, they work as a network to highlight Haitian culture, inspire others with its traditions, and showcase the beauty of Konpa music and dance—an iconic creation of Némours Jean-Baptiste and Wébert Sicot in the 1950s.
For Caleb, teaching Konpa is more than just sharing a dance—it’s a way to connect people with Haiti’s history, spread joy, foster unity, and instill pride in the country’s cultural heritage.
“Konpa To The World!” Caleb often says. For him, spreading Konpa is a mission, a sincere contribution to shining a light on Haiti's true value through music and dance.
Caleb’s exceptional talent and dedication to promoting Haiti’s cultural heritage have earned him widespread applause, recognition, and awards. In 2024, Caleb received the champion trophy for Best International Dancer at the global “Mundi Music Awards,” an event honoring top artists across more than 20 cultural categories. Caleb outshone many renowned dancers worldwide to claim the prestigious award, presented to him on December 28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
New York’s leading diaspora publication,The Haitian Times, also recognized and celebrated Caleb’s work. The publication listed him among 16 individuals and institutions that made significant news for Haiti and the diaspora community in 2024.
