Dr. Judite Blanc: Advancing Mental Health and Resilience

Dr. Judite Blanc is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, a clinical psychologist, and a behavioral scientist dedicated to understanding the complex relationship between stress, trauma, resilience, and health outcomes. With extensive training in the United States, France, and Haiti, her research focuses on the impact of chronic and traumatic stress on sleep, cardiovascular risks, aging, and DNA methylation. Her work, published in leading scientific journals, seeks to develop culturally tailored mind-body interventions to address racial, ethnic, and gender health disparities.

Beyond research, Dr. Blanc is a pioneer in Africana psychology and co-authored Pensées Afro-Caribéennes et Psychotraumatismes de l’Esclavage et de la Colonisation, exploring the psychological effects of slavery and colonization. Her work has been featured in Slate, Reuters, Science Daily, and MedPage Today, and she has appeared on Haitian national television advocating for mental health awareness. As an educator, she has held teaching positions at the Université d’État d’Haïti and New York University, shaping future leaders in psychology and public health.
